The National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol (NATA) is the pioneer government institution established under the National Authority on Tobacco and Alcohol Act, No. 27 of 2006, to enforce laws and regulations related to tobacco and alcohol control in Sri Lanka.
NATA plays a leading role in implementing national policies and international commitments such as the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO-FCTC), while promoting a healthier, tobacco- and alcohol-free society.

National Authority on Tobacco & Alcohol organized a press conference today (26.12.2022) to aware the public regarding the importance of the strengthning the tobacco & alcohol related laws to control early initiation of drug use among the youth at the Department of Government Information.
On December 2, 2022, at the Waters Edge Hotel, the second National Symposium on Tobacco & Alcohol (NSTAP - 2022) was successfully held. Prof. Samadhi Rajapaksa, the chairman of NATA, extended a warm greeting to all attendees. Prof. Kamal Perera then gave the keynote address.
